1. Observe Wildlife Respectfully
- Maintain a safe distance (at least 50 feet) to avoid disturbing natural behaviors.
- Use binoculars or zoom lenses to enjoy close-up views without causing stress or harm to the animal.
2. Do Not Feed Wildlife
- Feeding disrupts natural diets and can create dependence on human food.
- Human-provided food and trash can attract animals, leading to dangerous encounters or property damage. Secure garbage and food remains.
- Instead, support wildlife by planting native vegetation that provides natural food sources.
3. Drive with Care
- Reduce speed in areas where wildlife crossings are common.
- Baby animals are on the move during spring semester. Be extra cautious on campus roads.
4. Be Prepared for Emergencies
- Keep important phone numbers handy.
- Report injured or distressed animals to appropriate rescue organizations immediately.

- Keep pets on leash and prevent them from roaming freely in wildlife areas.
- Protect both your pets and wildlife by using enclosed yards, cat patios or supervised playtime outdoors.
